Twenty years after launching her eponymous brand, the Golden State continues to inspire Jenni Kayne’s ever-expanding universe.

Suede mules, cleansing balm, alpaca throws and outdoor furniture may not seem to have much in common. But, when those items are created by Jenni Kayne, the connecting thread becomes apparent almost immediately. “From home and apparel to beauty, everything speaks back to the effortlessness and approachable nature of California living,” says Kayne, who launched her brand two decades ago. Jenni Kayne may have started as a clothing brand offering luxe basics—think buttery soft sweaters in neutral tones and elegant yet easygoing footwear—but has grown to encompass much more, something Kayne envisioned from the start. “We have such a strong aesthetic and narrative that speaks to all facets of everyday living—one that our customers are continually drawn to—so growing into beauty, home and hospitality felt like the natural next step in bringing our California-inspired world to life.” Describing her style as “California minimalism,” Kayne—who cites Martha Stewart, Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein as mentors—looks to travel and nature for inspiration. “That comes through in our designs, whether it’s the names of our products or the materials we use,” she says. “My aim is to design pieces that speak to the idea of slowing down and living well.” In recent years, Kayne has put more emphasis on interiors and hospitality, having turned some of her boutiques— including Brentwood and SoHo—into dedicated home stores, and designed experimental homes in Lake Arrowhead and Santa Ynez. There are plans to open interiors destinations in Montecito and Westport, along with upcoming community retreats and hospitality projects. “At the end of the day, I want Jenni Kayne to be the brand that all women love and look to for everything in their lives—from how they set the table and the way they decorate their homes to the pieces that fill their wardrobes,” Kayne says. “My hope is for Jenni Kayne to be the ultimate destination and household name for elevated, everyday living.” jennikayne.com
