For more than 30 years, beloved SoCal rock radio station KROQ has thrown the best alternative Christmas party of the year, and 2023 is no different. If you were lucky enough to snag tickets to the sold-out KROQ Acoustic Christmas, read below for everything you need to know about the show.
KROQ Acoustic Christmas will take place at The Kia Forum on Dec. 9. The 9-artist lineup kicks off at 5 p.m., and proceeds will benefit Para Los Ninos and the Al Wooten Jr. Youth Center.
KROQ has curated a lineup of artists that span decades and rock subgenres: Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Offspring, Garbage, Portugal. The Man, Bleachers, Cannons, Lovejoy, Bakar and The Beaches.
Bring your festive attire, leave the skateboards and brass knuckles at home. Acoustic Christmas is a safe, friendly zone that allows clear bags smaller than 12”x 6”x 12”; clear plastic freezer bags not bigger than a gallon and small clutches or wristlets that are up to 9” x 6”. Another notable: the Forum is a cashless venue.
Before you step out the door, add your tickets to your mobile wallet from the Ticketmaster app. Then, you’re free to head to the concert. If you’re going to drive, Uber or carpool, anyone ridesharing can be dropped off at any entrance. In addition, commuters can park on-site, for which you can buy a pass ahead, or choose an off-site, but nearby lot.
You can load up on concession favorites like popcorn, nachos and hot dogs, but a night out is always a prime opportunity to try a neighborhood eatery. Give yourself time to enjoy a meal before the show at Sunday Gravy or Two Hommes. Read our full list of suggested pre-show restaurants.
KROQ Acoustic Christmas changes its lineup every year, so while we can’t predict setlists, we know you’re in for a fun night. As the show name suggests, get ready for stripped-down songs, revved up performances, Christmas tracks and a festive atmosphere from rock radio’s favorite bands.
