Krug Journey Dinner Party

| April 18, 2018 | Parties

Champagne and music lovers collided at the Krug Journey
dinner party.

THE PARTY Krug Champagne returned to the West Coast for the latest iteration of Krug Journey, an indulgent celebration of live music, fine food and rare Champagne. Hosted by fashion designer Naeem Khan, the fete welcomed a small number of guests who were invited to experience a unique pairing of flavors and sounds. THE SCENE Robert and Hope Smith welcomed fellow Krug lovers like Jordana Brewster and Emmanuelle Chriqui—who both donned Khan’s designs—into their Malibu manse overlooking the Pacific Ocean. THE HIGHLIGHTS While guests sipped Krug Grande CuvĂ©e 160th Edition en Jeroboam during cocktail hour, Tony award-winner Leslie Odom Jr. perched high above the crowd, singing an a cappella version of “Dear Theodosia” from the Broadway hit Hamilton. Following the reception, a supper featuring lobster and roasted duck awaited partygoers like David Oyelowo and Erin Foster in an orchid-filled tent where Odom performed jazz renditions of “How Deep Is Your Love” and “Love Look Away.” Desserts including frozen white chocolate hazelnut s’mores and cronut holes by Dominique Ansel were too good for the well-heeled crowd to pass up. Sweet night, indeed. -Shontel Horne
