With the sheer amount of options available, there’s no doubt we’re living in the golden age of skincare. But endless choices can oft en lead to confusion when it comes to an effective routine. Luckily, docent is here to help. The L.A.- and Bay Area-based brand provides customized prescription skincare to clients via communication with boardcertified dermatologists, all through email. Aft er reviewing your current routine and imagery of your skin, a licensed esthetician and dermatologist determine an ideal routine and a bespoke prescription formula to combat issues like hyperpigmentation and aging with ingredients like tretinoin, niacinamide, azelaic acid and more. “Our dermatologists want to know what you’re using so that our plan works in the real world,” says Nathan Gunn, MD, docent’s CEO and co-founder. Every few months, the custom formula is tweaked to match your skin’s unique needs. “You want a dermatologist to be with you over the long run, to fine-tune your unique recipe and to adjust to life events,” Gunn says.
