BELOVED DESERT GETAWAY LA QUINTA RESORT & CLUB’S SUMMER CHILL SEASON STARTS SOON—GET READY TO RELAX AND UNWIND.
There’s nothing quite like escaping to the desert, especially in the summer. Sun-drenched pool days, tennis and golf galore, vibrant galleries and museums, the absolute best vintage shopping around, freezing cold martinis under star-dappled skies—what more could one want?

Here to welcome guests with gusto is La Quinta Resort & Club. Set against the stunning Santa Rosa Mountains and spread across 45 acres dappled with vibrant flowers, fragrant orange and lemon trees, and various desert plants, La Quinta is just one of two resorts in the country that inspired the name of the city it’s in. (The other is The Beverly Hills Hotel.) Knowing that gives insight into the resort’s gravitas, but actually visiting is preferred, and more fun.
Starting Memorial Day weekend, the iconic property welcomes the return of its Summer Chill season, where guests can lean into the resort’s incredible offerings. In addition to the 41 climate-controlled pools—set to an optimal 78 degrees—there are several other activations to look forward to.
Fans of bubbly will delight in the revamped signature roaming Veuve Clicquot Champagne cart, which offers refreshing cocktails and glasses of the good stuff to enjoy poolside. Anyone over 21 can also head to the adult plunge pool for daily activations with exclusive cocktails and wine menus.
Snackwise, there are charcuterie boards and other summer treats on offer to enjoy poolside. The scoop shop is also on hand for chilled-out treats.
The resort has 617 guest rooms and 161 villas, all of which possess a charming Spanish-style casita look and feel PHOTO BY TANVEER BADAL

Another fun activation to look forward to is a series of poolside movies. Soak up a film—with refreshments in hand, natch—from a cabana, pool float or lounger. If you’d prefer to relax in your room for a breather, meditation and mindfulness classes are available via a partnership with the Breathwrk app.
As well, the spa is offering a number of seasonal treatments, including a cucumber melon massage, body therapy and mani-pedi, plus a rejuvenation antioxidant facial and a summer blowout—hydrating mask included. Sounds like they’ve got you covered. laquintaresort.com
