Let's Dance

| March 28, 2016 | Parties National

THE PARTY L.A. Dance Project founder Benjamin Millepied welcomed a curated guest list of urbane influencers for the organization’s third annual benefit dinner and performance. The evening gave attendees a rare look inside the company’s headquarters and rehearsal space, and raised an impressive $100,000 for artistic programming. THE SCENE A pre-party of passed Krug Champagne and the sale of a handful of James Welling limited-edition prints set high standards for the evening, but a three-act performance, including two Millepied-choreographed works, and a dinner of roasted chicken exceeded all expectations. The company’s altruists, Christian and Sutton Stracke, helped set a chic scene, while actors Tessa Thompson and Keith Stanfield were inspired to move to the dance floor for a spirited afterparty. THE HIGHLIGHTS To thank guests for their unyielding support, Millepied and his famed New York City Ballet partner, principal dancer Janie Taylor, danced a one-time-only duet. –Photos by Rich Polk/Getty Images for L.A.
