Lieber Fever

| June 21, 2011 | Parties

A two-day Judith Leiber fĂȘte including a cocktail party at the sparkling Rodeo Drive boutique and a celebrity-studded luncheon at LACMA. The Party: An exclusive shopping benefit, luncheon and presentation honoring evening bag designer Judith Leiber, hosted by the Costume Council of LACMA. The Players: Judith and Gerson Leiber, Joni Smith, Elizabeth Matthews, Carolyn Wagner, Ellen Levy-Sarnoff, Cindy Fields, Liza-Mae Carlin, Shelli Place, Janie Bryant, Elizabeth Stewart, Cameron Silver, Mary Gleason, Magda Berliner, Jennifer Margolin, Katie Cassidy, Rose Apodaca. The Scene: The Leiber love-fest started with the “100 for $100” private in-store sale event, during which Costume Council members snapped up $100 bejeweled bags and proceeds benefited the org. The next morning at the museum proved much more civilized: The 90-year-old designer chatted with moderator Cameron Silver about her storied past and gave a sneak peek of her fall 2011 collection.
