Starting Nov. 4, there will be nonstop flights from Los Angeles International Airport to Nassau’s Lynden Pindling International Airport in The Bahamas for the first time ever.
The flights are in partnership with JetBlue; will happen once every Saturday and will offer the JetBlue Mint premium experience. The new route expands JetBlue’s nonstop service to Nassau from seven U.S. markets, including New York, Boston and Fort Lauderdale.
“Nassau is a very popular destination among our customers, and we are thrilled to launch the first nonstop flight from Los Angeles to Nassau, pioneering this unique service for an unserved market,” said David Jehn, vice president of network planning and partnerships for JetBlue “We look forward to continuing our relationship with the Nassau Paradise Island Promotion Board and introducing the unique offerings of the island to our JetBlue customers.”
Added Joy Jibrilu, CEO of the Nassau Paradise Island Promotion Board: “We are continuing to see a strong visitation to Nassau Paradise Island from Los Angeles, and we are excited to expand access and offer the first nonstop flight from LAX in the history of the destination. Nassau and Paradise Island are the perfect getaway for those on the West Coast craving a tropical vacation with our white sand beaches, turquoise waters, world-class resorts and unmatched Bahamian hospitality. We are so pleased with the partnership with JetBlue and excited to celebrate this milestone in driving tourism to The Bahamas.”
The new flights come just in time for luxe holiday-time vacations. Notably, a trip to the Bahamas at the end of December makes for the perfect wind-down after the sprint through Thanksgiving, Christmas and other end-of-year festivities.
