In a competitive town filled with the best-of-the-best beauty experts and treatments, opening an L.A. outpost can be a daunting— and sometimes questionable—feat. Not so for celeb-loved facialist Joanna Czech, who opened an L.A. space at L’Ermitage Beverly Hills during Oscar week. Poland-born, New York-based Czech, who has been in the business for more than three decades and counts Anna Wintour, Jennifer Aniston, Cate Blanchett and many more as clients, has established herself as one of the most knowledgeable, hard-working and effective aestheticans out there. Visitors to the airy new studio will receive custom treatments based on their unique skincare needs, all priced by time (60 to 90 minutes) and guided by the Joanna Czech Method, a combination of manual and techy techniques (LED ultrasound, microcurrents, cryotherapy and more). “Your skin is about two square meters, but 25% of your immune system is within your skin,” says Czech, who plans to be in L.A. four times a year. “It’s super important to take care of it.” joannaczech.com–LEJ

Ever since Dr. Nancy Samolitis and Danielle Nadick Levy opened skincare clinic Facile in 2016, they’ve wowed the community with their thoughtful treatments and effective products. Now, the duo’s new Masterclass series brings their know-how to the public via intimate lessons at the Melrose Place studio—complete with snacks and live demonstrations—each on a specific topic such as melasma or facial symmetry. “We hope they walk away with an in-depth knowledge of how to do a comprehensive skincare routine for their unique skin, learn about the best treatments available and, obviously, leave with some exciting goodies,” says Nadick Levy. The iconic Barry’s “Red Room” utilizes Woodway treadmills and benches for the ultimate HIIT workout; PHOTO COURTESY OF BRAND
For over 25 years, fitness enthusiasts have entrusted the original Barry’s in WeHo to streamline a great workout that produces even better results. Recently, the community-praised studio moved across the way from the original La Cienega storefront to a freshly revamped corner studio—with even more space—on Santa Monica Blvd. The workout, which follows the same format as Barry’s classes worldwide, takes place in the dimly lit “Red Room” and utilizes parallel-laid Woodway treadmills that are numbered to match a bench area on the floor for a 50-60 minute heart-pumping session. The new studio will also offer a RIDE x LIFT class format, replacing the treadmills with state-of-the-art stationary bikes. Additionally, guests are treated to the use of free lockers for their belongings, shower-equipped locker rooms with Dyson hair dryers and Ouai products, and a trendy Fuel Bar with post-workout smoothies and snacks available for purchase. barrys.com–HG
