Pool parties, drag shows and movies, oh my! It sounds like a typical weekend in Los Angeles, but because it’s June, we know these standard L.A. happenings are upping the ante. Read on for how to celebrate Pride in Los Angeles.
Cinespia and LA Pride will wind down June with a screening of the Natasha Lyonne-starring teen flick But I’m a Cheerleader. The night promises good vibrations, comedy shocks, an on-theme photo booth, DJ sets, dance floor and bar. Tickets
On June 9, The Garland kicks off LA Pride weekend with its second annual Drag Yourself to the Valley event. The exclusive drag show will be hosted by Billy Francesca and will feature performances from RuPaul's Drag Race Queens Willam Belli, Adore Delano and season 14 winner Willow Pill. Tickets
Celebrate Pride with a side of pizza. On June 25, Future Gin and U Street Pizza join together to benefit the Downtown Women’s Center. In addition to indulging on a Future Gin cocktail and a slice of pizza, guests get to join in on putting together care kits for the center. Tickets
On June 12, check out Hollywood’s hottest new pool party. Located at The Godfrey Hotel Hollywood, I|O Rooftop welcomes Angelenos to a special Pride Pool Party with live DJS, drinks specials and more from 2 to 8 p.m. $20 at the door
You can make your Pride celebration one of jubilation and relaxation. In between reveling in Los Angeles’ endless festivities, opt to stay in Hollywood’s news hotels for a full-fledged recharge. Both Thompson Hollywood (So Gay the Thompson Way) and Tommie Hollywood (Gay Getdown and So Gay to Stay Package) are offering special packages for the month of June and a portion of proceeds will be donated to the Los Angeles LBGT Center. What’s more, locals and visitors can stay at Mondrian Los Angeles and give back all year round. Whether in June or December, guests who opt for the Love is Love Package will also be helping support the L.A. LGBT Center with a $10 donation to the AIDS/LifeCycle Foundation.
Known for putting on one of the largest Pride celebrations in the country, LA Pride is holding a number of can’t-miss events including LA Pride in the Park (featuring a headlining performance from Christina Aguilera), the 52nd Annual LA Pride Parade, LGBTQ+ Night at Dodger Stadium and more. On June 9, The Grove and LA Pride team up for its annual night of bingo full of panoramic views of the city, Instagram-worthy photo opportunities, live entertainment and more. Taking Place on Level 8, Jeffrey Bowman AKA Bingo Boy will lead 10 rounds of bingo, giving guests the chance to win special prizes from The Grove’s retailers and restaurants. Both locations are putting on Pride programming throughout the month of June. NeueHouse Hollywood is host to The Outfronts on June 4, which will include three screenings and include panels with the cast of Love Victor, Queer Firefighters and Legendary. Other events at NeueHouse Hollywood include Pride Prom on June 12; a screening of Free to Be on June 14 and Queering Pictures: Latinx Photographers and Nightlife Archive on June 21. Music fans can delight in NeueHouse Bradbury’s lineup with Gender Studies: Panel + Dance Party on June 4 and Women In Music Presents: Creating Spaces in Honor of Black Music Month + Pride on June 16.
Following up its debut last summer, Pearl Pool Party returns for another summer of queer fabulousness by the pool. In particular, it will have special parties on June 5 for WeHo Pride and June 12 for LA Pride for by-the-pool celebrations. Whether you prefer to relax under the shade of a cabana or below the invigorating sun, Pearl Pool Party is a day for everyone full of queer vendors, drag performances, photo opps, hot new DJs and more.
Not only is the outdoor movie series showcasing LGBTQIA+ hits all of June, but a portion of proceeds from the screenings will be donated to The Trevor Project. The lineup includes To Wong Foo on June 2; The Birdcage on June 9; Rocketman on June 16 and The Wizard of Oz on June 23. Tickets
Santa Monica is celebrating Pride all across the city with its festivities anchored by the Miles of Pride light installation spanning Third Street Promenade and Santa Monica Place. SaMo Pride launches on June 3 with Pride Marketplace, which will run every Friday Through Sunday in June at Nordstrom Court in Santa Monica Place. It will feature over 15 Southern California LGBTQIA+ business owners, including Stuzo, Humankind Swim and more. From June 17 to 19, the promenade will host a number of live events, including Dancing with Dane and Mortified Podcast. Del Rey Swim Club at Marina del Rey Hotel is throwing elevated pool parties all summer long with a special one just for Pride on June 12. Hosted by The Alejandro Queen, the day will include music from DJ Aaron Colbert and performances by Haus of Lanier. Party goers will get to enjoy marina views, a welcome shot, a rainbow treat, unlimited photo booth pictures and a fun day in the sun. Tickets
