The new rooftop restaurant above the Santa Monica Place shopping center is celebrating its grand opening on July 23, with festivities including DJs and live performances beginning at 11:30 am for brunch.
This one-of-a-kind restaurant created by the husband and wife duo Erik and Florence Chol will undoubtedly become your new favorite spot. You may know this power couple as the founders of the Lounge & Club Factory in France or as the people who brought the historic Globe Theater back to life. Their experience in French fine dining and cultivating spaces paid off in the development of LouLou, effectively making it a dining experience that you rarely see in California.

LouLou’s innovative menu combines French-Mediterranean cuisine with Californian produce sourced from Santa Monica farms. It was essential to the Chols' that their team is familiar with French cuisine and culture to add to the ambiance and create an authentically unique menu. The flavors pair deliciously together and create signature mouthwatering dishes like grilled octopus with romesco sauce, house-made lobster linguine tossed in garlic, truffle pizza, quiche lorraine and so many other tasty meals. Guests eating at LouLou are encouraged to order any of the shareable platters as an appetizer to help give their dining experience a relaxing European feel.
The restaurant has had a transformative remodel that gives a breath of fresh air to the aesthetic of LouLou with its earthy design elements. The rooftop overlooks the Pacific Ocean and boasts an intimate romantic feeling perfect for friends and families to enjoy a delicious meal under twinkling candle-lit trees. The patio and bar have jaw-dropping views that acts as a memorable backdrop for your dining experience.
