Following a successful inaugural festival, the Melrose Hill Block Party will be back in full force at the end of this month.
Say farewell to summer and embrace the second weekend of autumn with this neighborhood micro street festival. On Sept. 30, Melrose Hill will transform into one big party thanks to its hosts, delicatessen Ggiata, South Central clothing company Bricks & Wood, Postmates and e-commerce platform Basic. Space. A day-to-night celebration, it will take place from 2 p.m. to midnight.
The second annual event is all in on its mission to showcase emerging cultural hotspots tucked in the eponymous neighborhood, which you can find right at the intersection of Los Feliz, Larchmont and Koreatown. Embracing a city-wide spirit, the Melrose Hill Block Party will also feature a number of L.A.’s cult-favorite brands, eateries and more— all of which will be set to the tunes of live DJs and performers, including Stragglifescott and DJ Millie.
Alongside Ggiata, notable food vendors include Kuya Lord, Bridgetown Roti Le Coupe Fried Chicken, Amboy Quality Meats and Holy Basil, which will be offering attendees a lucky sneak peek of its new forthcoming fine dining concept.
Best of all, the Melrose Hill Block party is free to attend. All you have to do is RSVP in advance on Partiful. However, if you’re looking for an elevated experience, special wristbands are available for purchase ($70 in advance, $90 day of) on Eventbrite. This level of admission grants attendees access to an open bar, which will feature beverages by Jumbo Time Wines, Big Noise Beer, Madre Mezcal, Arizona Hard Ice Tea and more. And in the spirit of the block party being by the community, for the community, a portion of all culinary sales will go to No Us Without You, which works to provide food security for undocumented Angelenos who are the backbone of L.A.’s hospitality industry.
