A bright addition to its Los Angeles slate of locations—which encompasses The Grove, Beverly Hills and Palisades Village—Diptyque Paris has reopened its Larchmont boutique.
“In September 1961, amid the artistic effervescence of the Saint Germain district in Paris, our founding trio of artists and friends, Desmong Knox-Leet, Christiane Montadre- Gautrot and Yves Coueslant, acquired an old store at 34 Boulevard Saint-Germain,” the French fragrance mason said in a statement. “The first Diptyque was a touchstone for the style adopted by its three founding aesthetes: eclectic, cosmopolitan, curious and open to the world’s beauty.”
It continues, “Fusing reverie and reality, nature and art, Diptyque opens the doors to a timeless, fragrant, teeming world, where scents, dancing letters and captivating illustrations and motifs conjure beloved places and shared moments… True to its roots, the Los Angeles Larchmont boutique re-engages with the original 34 concept. By giving pride of place to its roving imagination and expression to the know-how at the origin of the pieces created by the maison, the 1,695-square-foot space captures the originality and poetry that has characterized Diptyque since its inception.”
Diptyque Larchmont is open daily at 10 a.m. and closes at 7 p.m., except for on Sunday when it closes at 6 p.m. In line with the maison’s usual standard of excellence, the store offers an array of premier services, including perfume refills, gift boxes, product recycling, boutique pick-up, free returns, after-sales advice and personalized engravings.
Calling to the perfumery’s Parisian roots, the boutique is equal parts French and Californian in its evolved design. Upon close inspection, past the dark green facade, shoppers will appreciate the sort of moldings and central fireplace you’d find in a Hausmannian apartment, in addition to a gorgeous oak bookcase, white-wooden beams, wall drawings, a plant-inspired mural and pastel-colored sofa.
