Glossier is finally back in Los Angeles, and I can’t be any more excited. After the grand reopening of their storefront in Seattle earlier in the year, Glossier is gearing up for its opening in West Hollywood. On Nov. 18, the cosmetics company will open its doors to the public right on Melrose Avenue.
Glossier started as a digital-first beauty company that solely sold its products online. However, after a mass following of loyal customers, in 2019, they decided to open up a series of pop-up and permanent stores all over the United States and the United Kingdom. Given that most of their sales come from online, these locations were extremely unique. Glossier’s mission was to always create aesthetically pleasing shopping experiences instead of only focusing on selling. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, these beautiful spaces had to be shut down, so the reopening of flagships is a momentous moment for this beauty company.
Despite almost a year and a half passing, this mission has not changed and the Los Angeles storefront might even be their coolest yet. The in-house creative team designed the spot to be inspired by a classic Hollywood movie studio, which has a surprisingly inviting ambiance. The light pink interior and perfect soft lighting create a beautiful backdrop for every selfie or photo you take while in the store. Being a company that prides itself on creating beauty products for everyday life, they wanted to make sure that everyone feels beautiful and authentically themselves during their shopping trip.
When you first walk through the doors, you are greeted with an immersive experience and a huge “Glossier Globe” in the middle of a sleek fountain. As you head further through the space, you can check out their products on the tables and pose next to the massive props of their best-selling items. Finally, around the store, there is a plethora of amphitheater-style seating that is perfect for any tag-along shoppers wanting to rest their feet.
Thankfully, the excitement of this grand opening doesn’t end quite yet because in December, Glossier is opening an outdoor space called Alfred at Glossier Alley right across from the store. All guests are welcome to get drinks from Alfred's full coffee menu or order pastries that are provided by Farmhouse. The coolest thing about this unique café experience is that The Haas Brothers designed a gorgeous marble fountain to be the center of this outdoor sitting area.
Make sure to mark your calendars for these grand openings and treat yourself to some new makeup!
Glossier Los Angeles is at 8523 Melrose Ave. Hours: Monday-Saturday: 10 a.m.-7 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
