“You simply never forget the sweet taste of lobster right off a fisherman’s boat,” says Saltie Girl restaurant owner Kathy Sidell, whose beloved seafood bar with locations in Boston and London just opened an outpost in West Hollywood. The intimate 90-seat establishment on Sunset Boulevard boasts sea-green walls, scalloped tile floors, and a vibe that’s timeless and nostalgic. Inspired by summer sailing trips on the East Coast with her father, Sidell is delivering high-quality seafood in a sophisticated yet accessible way—from Transparent Sea shrimp farmed in L.A. to a warm lobster roll to over 130 varieties of tinned fish. Says Sidell, “We like to think you can come to Saltie Girl and have a celebratory experience with caviar and Champagne, or a super-humble experience with a great, inexpensive glass of rosé, a couple delicious tins and a dozen oysters.” saltiegirl.com–Alexis Garrity

One of the longest-running international contemporary art galleries, Lisson Gallery features the work of over 60 global artists across two spaces in London, three in New York and one in Shanghai. Its artists have strong ties to L.A., but CEO Alex Logsdail sought to open an L.A. gallery for artists who didn’t have access to the city. “It’s a place with a strong and diverse landscape of cultural institutions, and many of our artists are very excited to engage with this audience,” he says. The intimate new space on Sycamore from Ashe Leandro architects will showcase exhibits by Sean Scully, Pedro Reyes and Hugh Hayden following an opening presentation of the Days of the Week series by Carmen Herrera—who’d worked on her first L.A. solo show right up until her death last year. Says Logsdail, “The exhibition is in honor of the trailblazer that was Carmen Herrera and the unwavering determination that drove her life.” lissongallery.com–Maren Miller
Fredrik Eklund’s new mocktail Magic Kick comes in three “vibes” PHOTO: COURTESY OF THE EKLUND|GOMES TEAM
“After I got sober two years ago, it was difficult to find an alternative to alcohol,” says real estate broker and Million Dollar Listing star Fredrik Eklund. “I knew I never wanted to be drunk again… but there were three things I did miss with alcohol: party, sex and sleep.” He thus worked his magic in creating a healthy alternative that delivers those effects but without the hangover or negative aftermath of drinking alcohol. His new mocktail, Magic Kick, contains high-quality mushroom extracts and comes in three vibes: Party (a pick-me-up), Sex (to get in the mood) and Sleep (to drift off). “I wanted people to feel good while drinking and wake up early refreshed and be successful at work and train hard in the gym,” says Eklund, who’s been having more fun since giving up alcohol. “I think there’s a sober revolution happening. … Everyone wants some magic in their life. And a little kick!” magickick.com–Ally Winer
Goldish jewelry serves as a talisman that helps wearers connect to their own sensuality; Goldish Ladders to Bliss Gemstone hand chain GOLDISH PHOTOS COURTESY OF BRAND
Yafit Goldfarb spent more than two decades building Seasonal Whispers, her successful jewelry sold at stores like Bloomingdale’s and Nordstrom. But, after a while, the multitalented designer—who always practiced a multitude of creative and spiritual pursuits—craved more, and yearned to immerse herself in a career that combined her diverse talents. “Goldish is more than just a jewelry line, it’s a spiritual experience,” she says of the brand, which recently opened a boutique on Rose Avenue in Venice. (There are existing stores in Tulum and Tribeca.) “The brand was born from a vision during a deep sound meditation, where I saw symbols that could be placed on the body to awaken the mind and connect certain parts of the body with lightness, using gold and stones.” All of Goldish’s lightweight pieces—body chains, necklaces, hand chains and more—are symbols with specific meanings, and are designed to be worn close to the body. At the new store, customers are encouraged to explore and select pieces that speak to them—then participate in a sound and candle ritual. “Overall, Goldish stands out as a brand that combines physical beauty with spiritual significance,” says Goldfarb, “creating a unique and meaningful shopping experience for its customers.” begoldish.com–LEJ

“The Clearheaded podcast initially began as a yearning to discuss different stories and perspectives surrounding guests’ choice to remove alcohol from their life,” says Cait Madry, who, in 2020, launched Clearheaded with Sara Ashcraft. “We wanted to curate a space that vetted nonalcoholic replacements, ‘quit’ lit and podcasts, while also providing people with recipes, guides and insight on constructing a personalized sober-care routine.” The pair believe anyone can benefit from cutting back on booze, whether by doing a dry month or adopting a sober lifestyle. A cart concierge website feature offers product and resource recommendations—from what to bring to a special occasion in lieu of Champagne (Sure’s Brut is their go-to) to inspiring podcasts (A Sober Girl’s Guide)—and immersive events and an app are forthcoming. Says Ashcraft , “When you eliminate something from your routine, it’s so important to have options and new fun alternatives.” clearheaded.co–Jasmin Rosemberg
