Novak Djokovic is well known for being ranked as the number one tennis player in the world. However, he is doing something a little different in his free time. In a reuniting collaboration, he has partnered with Montblanc to create a limited-edition tote bag. With only 311 pieces total, this $1,555 bag is a unique collector’s item for anyone’s closet.
The bag honors his accomplishment of breaking Roger Federer’s world record and being the first player to be ranked number one by the Assoc. of Tennis Professionals for more than 311 weeks. He broke his previous record of 310 weeks in March 2021. The bag, which launched on Sept. 7, truly embodies who he is as a person.
The bag itself is all-black and features the number "311" on the front. Detailing the numerals, there are the Serbian flag’s colors to represent where he is from. The bag's fabric is made from Econyl, a sustainable product that is sourced from waste and can be later recycled and recreated again. The leather on the bag is also ethically sourced and has zero impact on the environment, making the bag’s carbon footprint minimal and leaving purchasers free of guilt.
Not only is the bag clean and sustainable, but it also helps support what Djokovic states is his true purpose in life. A fraction of the proceeds will go towards The Novak Djokovic Foundation, which helps every child have access to quality education. He started this organization because he thinks that writing is a fundamental skill that everyone should be able to do, which is a belief that Montblanc strongly supports as well.
Montblanc also stands by their idea that Djokovic is a Mark Maker or someone that strongly embodies their brand ethos: “What moves you makes you”. He is an extremely talented tennis player that isn’t constrained by that one thing. He uses his passions and power to make an actual difference in the world. Not only is this sustainable tote bag a stylish piece to add to your wardrobe, but it also supports good causes and promotes working hard to follow your dreams.
