August is the final month to indulge in black Périgord truffles from Western Australia, and as its winter truffle season comes to a close Angelenos can savor the remainder of the superior selection this weekend at Patina Restaurant on Friday, August 9 and Saturday, August 10 during two black truffle-focused dinners. Patina’s Executive Chef Charles Olalia will curate a five-course “Black Truffle Menu” showcasing the prized harvest of The Wine & Truffle Co. Unearthedfrom late May through late August in Western Australia, these truffles are of identical make-up as the coveted French “black diamond” variety.
Dishes on the five-course menu include Sea Scallops with truffle crème fraîche, crostini, and parsley coulis; Zucchini Blossom Tempura with lobster and truffle mousseline and baby courgettes; and Mallard Duck with truffle sauce, Rainier cherries, and coco nib, to name a few.
Tickets cost $100 per person.
