As part of Palm Springs Modernism Week (Feb. 13-23), luxury fragrance brand Perfumehead will celebrate the 70th anniversary of iconic architect Donald Wexler’s family home within the landmark itself. From Feb. 17–20, step inside this nationally registered historic property—now owned by Perfumehead founder Daniel Giles—nestled in Palm Springs’ famed Movie Colony neighborhood. This iconic and rarely toured private residence offers a glimpse into the incredible past of a midcentury modern pioneer’s life and work.
Curated by independent curator and writer Brooke Hodge, the exhibition will showcase Wexler’s original sketches, photographs and artistic process. More than just a home, the residence was built especially for Wexler’s wife, Marilynn Wexler, and his sons Glen, Gary and Brian—a testament that modern architecture can serve both as a functional family home and a remarkable work of art.

To mark the exhibition’s opening, guests can attend the opening night reception on Feb. 15 and enjoy curated hors d’oeuvres and wine pours within the walls of eminent architecture. For those looking to stop by later during Palm Springs Modernism Week, join guest hosts any day from Feb. 17 to 20 for a 30-minute guided tour of the residence—which is rarely open to the public. Tickets are available here.
Ticket proceeds will benefit the Wexler Archive at Cal Poly Pomona, ensuring Wexler’s legacy continues to inspire future generations. At the event’s conclusion, guests will be presented with a custom-designed keepsake of the exhibition to take home, sponsored by Perfumehead—the perfect way to commemorate this one-of-a-kind experience.
