With its 2 on Tour national test drive initiative, Polestar aims to separate its next-level performance car from the rest of the EV masses.
Electric vehicles are on everyone’s mind these days—but in such a crowded marketplace, how can a brand stand out from the pack? For Swedish electric performance automotive brand Polestar, the answer is simple: Take the show on the road with the 2 on Tour program, a national test-drive program bringing the buzzed-about Polestar 2 to consumers across the country. Set to run through December, the initiative is hitting 33 markets, from L.A. and Vegas to Dallas, Boston, Philly, D.C. and more. For Gregor Hembrough, head of Polestar in North America, it’s a win-win proposition.
Luxe features like a panoramic glass roof make the Polestar 2 stand apart.
“The 2 on Tour test-drive program not only allows us to share our all-electric Polestar 2 with a broader audience throughout the United States, but it enables us to have real conversations with consumers, where we can share our brand ethos and explain how easy it is to own and drive an electric vehicle.” Test drivers can get up close and personal with the sleek fastback’s handsome, high-design features, including panoramic glass roof and frameless mirrors; 35% reduced plastic interior with fully vegan options; tech-forward infotainment system; and nimble, performance-focused 408-horsepower engine, with an EPA estimated driving range of up to 249 miles.
A built-in Android Automotive OS translates into first-rate infotainment.
Hembrough is confident that with this vehicle, seeing (and driving) is believing, noting, “The Polestar 2 is a driver’s car that actually feels like a premium vehicle, with quality fit and finish matching up to an avant-garde design. It provides exhilarating performance, superior safety standards, exquisite design touches, and it is the first car in the world to feature an integrated infotainment system powered by Google’s Android Automotive OS, with Google Assistant, Google Maps and Google Play built in. This is a combination of excellent price and standard features that has not previously been reached in the premium EV market segment.”
The hexagonal gear shifter boasts an illuminated Polestar symbol at its center, just one of the auto’s many intricate design touches.
