THE PARTY The opening night of the James Franco-conceived MOCA show, Rebel—an ode to Nicholas Ray’s film Rebel Without a Cause—held at JF Chen THE PLAYERS Artists Harmony Korine, Damon McCarthy, Paul McCarthy, and Aaron Young; guests AndrĂ© Balazs, Maria Arena Bell, Bill Bell Jr., Eva and Michael Chow, Gia Coppola, Lou Doillon, Chelsea Handler, Val Kilmer, Christian Louboutin THE HIGHLIGHTS A reinterpretation of Chateau Marmont set the stage for the occasion, featuring works by the likes of Korine, Douglas Gordon and Ed Ruscha—and the multihyphenate Franco. Faux bungalows housed video installations, projections and sculptures capturing the spirit of Ray’s iconic work, as well as a photo series shot by Terry Richardson, portraying Franco in drag.
