Owners Vanessa and Thomas Tilaka Kalb’s cheese shop and comfort eatery showcased its notable hospitality by delivering meals to fire stations and offering pickup options for Angelenos who had been displaced during the wildfires. Keeping up their noble efforts, the Pasadena-based restaurant cooked meals and raised funds for nonprofits such as Friends In Deed and World Central Kitchen.

Beloved coffee shop Alfred brewed up something spectacular to give back to the community. From Jan. 14-22, all locations accepted in-cafe and in-app donations for the LAFD, which well surpassed $1,300, as well as catered coffee and bagels to 12 fire stations. Coinciding with its 12th anniversary, Alfred offered a salted maple latte through Feb.18—with all proceeds being split between The Los Angeles Food Bank, Altadena Girls Fire Recovery and Agoura Animal Care Center.
Southern cuisine lovers are well-acquainted with Alta, a California soul food spot in West Adams, serving dishes from sweet potato dumplings doused in peanut sauce to shrimp and grits. To lend a helping hand to the L.A. community during the January events, Alta acted as a local donation drop-off for essential supplies that were then delivered to evacuation shelters and mutual aid centers.
The acclaimed Los Angeles dining institution, helmed by James Beard award-winning chef Suzanne Goin and restaurateur Caroline Styne, teamed up with French Champagne house Billecart-Salmon to host a Champagne brunch fundraiser supporting wildfire relief efforts. The proceeds from the seasonal cuisine and Champagne-paired afternoon went toward Restaurants Care and the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation emergency wildfire fund.
Chez Mia and Olivetta—two uber-popular restaurants by Marissa and Matt Hermer—went the extra mile to support those affected by the region’s fires. At Melrose’s Chez Mia, a social media campaign invited the community to nominate individuals in need or volunteer to deliver meals across L.A. Marissa then opened both kitchens, serving up bread, salad and pasta to nourish those who needed it most.
To provide much-needed relief during tragedy, Beverly Hills’ Crustacean gave over 500 firefighters and families affected by the wildfires free bowls of An’s Famous Garlic Noodles and Mama’s Famous Pho Soup through its Dining Out fundraising efforts. The Vietnamese fine-dining restaurant also donated $10,000 to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, thanks to its incredible team and supportive patrons.

Fast casual Mediterranean eatery Dune has been a Los Angeles mainstay since 2015. During the L.A. wildfires, owners Anne O’Malley and Scott Zwiezen’s street food spot helped out by delivering fresh meals to those who had been displaced or needed meal assistance—every day through the end of January.

This Venice establishment, known for its mod atmosphere and fresh seafood, took the reins early to provide relief to the community. The local spot began by offering free meals before teaming up with E-Fish, Co, The California Seafood Company and chef Dom Crisp to host three separate oyster-shucking fests. Each donated 100% of the proceeds to a different relief organization, including chef José Andrés’ World Central Kitchen, the LAFD Foundation and Community Brigade.
The famed Italian food hall served as an all-around relief destination. By opening its quick service counter and La Pizza & La Pasta restaurant, first responders and evacuees had access to free meals in a safe space. Furthering community outreach, Eataly partnered with the LAFD and local relief organizations to provide over 9,000 meals across the county and participated in Dine LA Restaurant Week programming to fundraise for wildfire relief efforts. On March 18, Eataly is partnering with renowned chef Massimo Bottura for a one-night-only benefit dinner, supporting the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and California Community Foundation—with all proceeds going to these causes.
Your local vodka pasta and burrata pizza joint went beyond artisan Italian dishes to serve the local community. By mid-January, the eatery had already contributed over 2,000 meals to health clinics, fire stations, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and many more for front-line workers, evacuees and volunteers.
The new-on-the-scene Hollywood hotspot showed immense support for the Los Angeles community during this time of need. The eatery pledged $20,000 to the California Community Foundation, which ensures grants are allocated to make the most meaningful impact possible. In accordance with this, the team also donated 20% of January’s proceeds to those impacted.

With four locations across Los Angeles, Madre Oaxacan Restaurant & Mezcaleria stepped up in a time of crisis, welcoming first responders from across the county with complimentary meals as they battled the fires. From West Hollywood to Santa Clarita, Madre made sure those on the front lines were well taken care of.
As a renowned culinary institution, Nobu continues to set the standard for contemporary Japanese cuisine, and they’ve launched a meaningful initiative to support their community in need. Through their thoughtful Green Tea Charity activation, the restaurant group donated 100% of proceeds from every cup of their signature green tea sold across U.S. locations to World Central Kitchen’s critical mission of providing immediate meal relief to first responders and families impacted by devastating wildfires in L.A.

This cherished local gem, tucked within the Rodeo Collection, ensured its renowned Mexican cuisine served the community in a meaningful way. From Jan. 10-23, The Hideaway served its Uno, Dos, Tres meal—a choice of appetizer, entree and dessert—free of charge to first responders and locals displaced during the fires.
Uchi West Hollywood showed its love for the community through its cooking. From Jan. 11-18, the elevated Japanese restaurant gave away free meals of menu favorites—including karaage chicken, wagyu beef gyudon and market vegetable curry—to first responders and those affected by the wildfires, offering the warmth of a homecooked meal during uncertain times.
