Late last fall, The Ritz-Carlton Los Angeles debuted Le Petit Chef: An Immersive Dining Experience, a one-of-a-kind culinary adventure in collaboration with TableMation Studios.
The dining experience goes beyond standard virtual reality immersion and engulfs guests in a multi-sensory, five-course dinner odyssey. However, there’s just about a month left for diners to take part because Let Petit Chef will only be available through the end of May.
Reservations can be made on OpenTable, but even with April winding down, openings in May are becoming more limited.
The highly-coveted reservation speaks to the enticing spectacle that is Le Petit Chef, not to mention the excellent food. For starters, guests get to enjoy spectacular views from the 24th floor of The Ritz-Carlton’s dining room.
From there, the artistic-driven experience continues on for two hours and is led by the eponymous Le Petit Chef, a whimsical 3D character who dives into an enticing story on the history, inspiration and ingredients for each course. Evoking a unique theatrical dinner, Le Petit Chef’s real-life creations are served in unison with the animation by the punctually choreographed Ritz-Carlton staff.

“The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles is excited to bring this unique dining experience, which is unlike any other, to the city,” hotel general manager Javier Cano said upon the collaboration’s initial announcement. “As a luxury hotel that leads with innovation, we want to offer guests this captivating, narrative show that will make diners feel as though they just stepped into another reality.”
In addition to the technical prowess of TableMation Studios and artistic collective Skullmapping, which developed the experience’s visual technology, Le Petit Chef’s menu comes from the award-winning chefs at the Culinary Institute of America at Copia. Showcasing international cuisine classics, highlights include tomato tart with burrata, chicken roulade and beef filet. Guests also have the option to enjoy their carefully selected wine pairing.
The Ritz-Carlton Los Angeles is located at 900 W Olympic Blvd 90015. Le Petit Chef: An Immersive Dining Experience is $145 per person and an additional $35 for the optional wine pairing. It is available Thursday to Sunday beginning at 7 p.m.
