Nine Emmys and other memorabilia from the estate of award-winning director, producer, writer and philanthropist Sam Simon (1955-2015), who co-created The Simpsons, will go to live and online auction on Feb. 21 in Los Angeles. All property sold will benefit the Sam Simon Charitable Giving Foundation, which supports causes including animal welfare, poverty alleviation and disaster relief.
Property from the personal collection of Simon – whose credits also include Cheers, Taxi, The Tracey Ullman Show, The Drew Carey Show and other popular television sitcoms – will be auctioned starting at 10 a.m.
- Nine inscribed Emmys, seven for The Simpsons and two for The Tracey Ullman Show (estimated value $3,000 to $5,000 each)
- Dale Chihuly glass chandelier (estimated value $150,000)
- Dale Chihuly glass wall installation (estimated value $40,000-$60,000)
- Bronze replica of Auguste Rodin’s “The Thinker” sculpture ($80,000-$100,000)
