Sara Bareilles returns to the Hollywood Bowl this month for a Saturday night spectacular. Read on for everything you need to know about attending.
Sara Bareilles will perform with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra on Aug. 17. After gates open at 6 p.m., the show will begin at 8 p.m. with a performance by Tony and Grammy winner and Bareilles’ Girls5eva cast member Renée Elise Goldsberry.
If you plan to drive to the Bowl, you’ll want to get a parking pass ahead of the show and as soon as possible. Additionally, besides driving, you can take the Metro B Line to the Hollywood/Highland Metro Station and then hop on the free Bowl shuttle at Ovation Hollywood. Or, if you take rideshare like Lyft, Alto or Uber, map your driver to Lot C at 6655 Odin St. Finally, there are other shuttles around town with parking lots, so you can drive to a nearby place and leave the Highland stretch to a bus driver. Whatever your transportation method, the Hollywood Bowl recommends arriving 90 minutes before the show starts.
Not only does the Hollywood Bowl not enforce a clear bag policy, but for this show, you can also bring in beer and wine alongside snacks and water bottles. However you pack up your concert feast, just be sure it is in a bag no larger than 15” x 15” x 22.”
If you prefer to leave the food to the professionals, the Hollywood Bowl has plenty of great options. In addition to standard concessions, you can grab a bottle of wine at Ann’s Wine Bar and load up on the beloved Suzanne’s Fried Chicken. Alternatively, you can stop at a nearby restaurant before the show for a full dining experience. If you’re coming from Hollywood, you can consider Lemon Grove or L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele, while those coming from near Burbank may want to make a reservation at Smoke House. From her first big hit “Love Song” to penning the music and lyrics for the Broadway musical Waitress, Bareilles has an eclectic discography fitting for a special night with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. The tone of the evening will be set by Goldsberry, who will blow away the audience with her powerhouse vocals showcased through Broadway hits, jazz standards and gospel numbers. Then, it will be Bareilles' turn to take center stage. “I will be playing my music…reimagined for the extraordinary collaboration with these world-class players,” she shared on Instagram. “I have never heard my songs quite like this and I’m over the moon to dive in.”
The Hollywood Bowl is located at 2301 N Highland Ave 90068.
