The Chrysalis Foundation rounds up Hollywood’s brightest stars for its 15th annual Butterfly Ball.
THE PARTY The Chrysalis Foundation set a new standard with its 15th annual Butterfly Ball. Honoring Queen Latifah, Brian Robbins and Hank Steinberg, the lavish affair called Hollywood leaders to a private estate in Mandeville Canyon to raise funds to help eradicate homelessness in Los Angeles. Guests sat down to dinner as honorees shared thoughtful, personal tales about the importance of the organization. Following the presentation, indie group Phases took the stage, turning the sentimental tone into a vivacious dance party.
THE GUESTS L.A.’s influencers arrived in droves to support the worthy cause. The roster was all-encompassing, from celebrities Paula Patton and Selma Blair to fashion’s Rachel Zoe and Rosetta Getty to notable philanthropists Rebecca Gayheart-Dane and Richard Weitz.
THE HIGHLIGHTS “We are the embodiment of hope and dreams that are achievable and attainable. We are the embodiment of people coming into our lives and changing the trajectory of what that life would have been,” said Queen Latifah while accepting the Spirit of Chrysalis Award. It was a sentiment that captured the essence of the evening. –Kelsi Maree Borland; photos by Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty Images
