When Siff Haider and Nish Samantray got married, instead of throwing a large wedding, the couple decided instead to invest into launching a company. It was early 2020, and despite the challenges that were in the not-so-distant future, the two have built Arrae into a celebrity-coveted wellness company also loved by millennial women.
Before pivoting to the health and wellness space, Haider worked in the publishing industry, which eventually led to content creation and, later, The Dream Bigger Podcast, which debuted in late 2018. What began as a hobby grew into a podcast with more than 700,000 downloads, on which she showcased the best of wellness information and interviews. Haider herself has undergone different health issues for years, so it only makes sense her path led her to work to find a solution.
As Arrae continues to amass a loyal following, Haider opened up about switching careers, the importance of all-natural solutions and the importance of community.
You previously worked in the publishing industry. What was it like making the pivot to content creation and the wellness industry?
I think being in the publishing industry gave me a really good foundation for being a content creator. I understood the concept of deadlines, bigger deep dives on specific topics and high quality pictures. I brought a lot of what I learned working in the publishing industry to content creation. I think it was a pretty natural pivot; I valued high-quality imagery and information heavy articles. And then transitioning from content creation to wellness entrepreneur was another very natural move because I feel like working as a content creator and podcaster gave me a really well-rounded understanding of the brand side of things.
We’d love to hear more about the inception of Arrae. How did your passion for natural solutions evolve into a full-fledged business?
My husband and I saw a real white space in wellness. As a parallel, we found that the skincare industry was so easy to navigate for consumers: targeted, results oriented, formulated by an expert and really beautiful. We wanted to bring the same experience to the wellness industry. I just felt very strongly that it was a problem that needed to be solved. Women specifically were dealing with a ton of health issues, and I felt really passionately about being able to solve those issues with products they'd feel excited about using.
Arrae grew 10 times in just one year. What was key to reaching this crazy milestone?
Community! We cultivated a close relationship with our community, which includes our customers and influencers. Additionally, we've always treated our customers like influencers, so word of mouth was really strong.
Arrae has racked up a fanbase that includes celebrity fans like Hailey Bieber. Given high-profile people have access to just about any beauty/wellness product out there, what do you think makes Arrae so special?
I truly think our products are the best in the world at what they set out to do. This is actually a core philosophy at our company. We don't create products based on trends. We only create things that we believe we can be the best in the world at, and I think that the traction we've gotten is on account of that.
What other feedback have you gotten from Arrae’s clientele— what do they love about it?
They love that we use clean ingredients and that they can actually feel the results immediately. Our products were created to take on an as-needed basis. Yes, people see overall improvements in health through prolonged use, but what's really unique about our products is that people feel relief from their issue within an hour of taking our products. I think that's something that resonates with our clientele. They know they can go into a given situation and feel their best. That means not really worrying if the pasta they ate is going to cause them digestive distress because they have our Bloat capsules on hand or worrying about a big meeting they have coming up because they have our Calm capsules on hand.
Despite its success, Arrae is still in its early years. What do you have planned for its future?
Our goal for Arrae is to ensure that we create the best in-class products, and make a real impact in people's lives. This has always been our north star.
What are you most proud of about The Dream Bigger Podcast?
The fact that I'm able to bring real resources to my listeners. When I was younger, podcasts weren't a thing. I think they're so powerful because essentially you get to hear tips from the most successful people in the world and realize that it's possible for you as well. I named it The Dream Bigger podcast because I hope that the stories I bring to my listeners inspire them to pursue and achieve their biggest dreams.
