Singing Praises

| May 1, 2014 | Parties

The Paramount lot served as the perfect L.A. backdrop for an evening of entertainment and philanthropy, courtesy of the second annual Rebels With a Cause gala. Master of Ceremonies Jimmy Kimmel humored the crowd before Grammy-nominated artist Pharrell Williams and his infamous Vivienne Westwood hat took the stage. The event raised more than $9 million for cancer research at USC, largely due to honoree Larry Ellison, who matched donations through a personal contribution of $4.5 million. Barry Manilow commanded the crowd with a punchy performance, and the soiree channeled Williams’ latest smash. The hefty charitable sum undoubtedly left USC’s Keck School of Medicine feeling, well, happy. –Photos by Dan Steinberg/Invision/AP Images
