THE PARTY Women In Film’s (WIF) fifth annual pre-Oscars party, held at Cecconi’s THE PLAYERS WIF President Cathy Schulman, Oscar nominees Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, Annie Mumolo, Jessica Chastain, Sandy Powell, Dede Gardner; guests Gwyneth Paltrow, Jena Malone, Blythe Danner, Shailene Woodley BEST IN SHOW The evening was a love-fest for women passionate about celebrating their collective achievements on the big screen—from Selena Gomez, who excitedly awaited the arrival of her hero, The Help’s Spencer, to actress Danner, a proud mom who cheered as daughter Paltrow addressed the packed room alongside Schulman. THE STATS Of nearly 200 Oscar nominees in 2012, only 45 were women, according to Schulman. THE ONE-LINER “We’re smarter than men and better than men.
