Sunset Boulevard has a dazzling new addition.
Adding to the Strip’s legendary lineup of shopping, dining and entertainment venues, Skims has unveiled a Los Angeles flagship store.
Co-founded by Kim Kardashian, the juggernaut shapewear brand has expanded since its establishment in 2019 to include loungewear, swimwear and a men’s line. The West Hollywood brick-and-mortar debut comes following the opening of a number of locations across the United States, including the New York City flagship on Fifth Avenue.
“Opening a Skims store in Los Angeles is a full-circle moment. This city has been a huge part of my life, and having a space here where people can experience the brand in person makes it even more special,” shared Kim Kardashian, co-founder and chief creative officer. “We’re just getting started, and I can’t wait for what’s ahead.”
Skims Los Angeles will undoubtedly turn the heads of Sunset Boulevard commuters with its expansive building, marked by a neutral color palette and the brand’s soft-edged logo. Inside the 4,546-square-foot space, Rafael de Cárdenas, Ltd., brought Skim’s intimate, body-focused aesthetic to life through more rounded edges and monochrome coloring. Alongside an array of mannequins, a towering, 12-foot Vanessa Beecroft sculpture welcomes shoppers upon entry.
“Los Angeles has always been an important market for Skims, and the place we call home, so opening a flagship store here was the natural next step,” says Jens Grede, co-founder and CEO of Skims. “Seeing our standalone stores come to life has been incredible, and we’re excited to keep expanding, giving both new and loyal customers a space to fully experience Skims.”
Fans of the brand will be delighted by the in-store offerings. Spanning a range of product categories, Skims Los Angeles notably showcases best-selling collections like Fits Everybody, Cotton and Ultimate Bras. The store makes the case for in-person shopping with new releases and exclusive drops each month. Currently, Angelenos can peruse the limited-edition Skims Loves LA collection, from which all net sales will benefit the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation.
Furthermore, Skims wants Angelenos to join the celebration of the new opening. Teaming up with neighbor Mel’s Drive-In, the diner will transform into Skims Drive-In from April 2 to 6. The pop-up, Skims-inspired dining experience is more than just the chance to enjoy classic diner dishes. Marrying Mel’s iconic vintage design with Skims details, there will also be a custom photo booth and curated menu. To ensure your reservation, all you have to do is shop at Skims Los Angeles. Skim’s Drive-In will be open during standard Mel’s hours.
Skims Los Angeles is located at 8569 W Sunset Blvd 90069.
