The Party A salon-style conversation between MOCA Director Jeffrey Deitch and photographer Taryn Simon, the final installment in this year’s MOCA Louis Vuitton Art Talks series, held in the home of museum board member Darren Star The Players Jeffrey Deitch, Taryn Simon, Darren Star, Lilly Tartikoff, Bruce Karatz, Michael Chow, Maria Arena Bell The Scene The air was full of art chatter as invitees sat down to a casual brunch, served in the gardens outside of Star’s Bel Air home. Afterward, guests gathered in the art-filled living room, where Deitch and Simon held an intimate discussion about her latest exhibit at MOCA, titled A Living Man Declared Dead and Other Chapters I–XVIII. Simon spoke candidly on her research and international travels over a four-year period that contributed to the images in the exhibition. The lenswoman introduced the audience to another new project using a slideshow presentation on two monitors in the room. She pulled up the innovative website imageatlas.org, which highlights cultural differences and similarities by culling top image results for searched terms across local engines in different countries.Photography by Brandon Clark/AB Images
