This spring, Soho Warehouse welcomed Mandolin Taverna as one of downtown L.A.'s newest must-try restaurants.
Inspired by Aegean recipes and decor, Mandolin Taverna is an outpost of Miami’s Mandolin Aegean Bistro.
Adjacent to the Soho Warehouse property, this restaurant offers favorites from its original Miami menu, including mezes dips, grilled octopus, kofte and whole Mediterranean sea bass. Adorned with blue and white decor and Greek style furniture, Mandolin Taverna perfectly imitates the olive groves and garden-like atmosphere of the Mediterranean Coast.

Husband and wife duo Ahmet Erkaya and Anastasia Koutsioukis co-founded Mandolin in 2009 with the goal of creating a cuisine targeting the Greek and Turkish tradition of simplicity in dining.
“Mandolin has been the realization of a very personal project for Anastasia and I and surpassed all our expectations,” Erkaya said. “Looking ahead, it feels like now is the right time for Mandolin to spread its wings but it was important for us to take this step with a trusted partner and friend.”
After Membership Collection Group's acquisition of Mandolin, Erkaya and Koutsioukis now work closely with MCG founder and CEO Nick Jones as supervisors for the brand’s maintenance and expansion.
“We’ve known Nick for over ten years and he shares the same passion for the Mandolin’s spirit, good food and warm hospitality as we do,” Koutsioukis said. “We have every confidence that he and the MCG leadership team will continue to build on the fantastic success of our beloved restaurant together.”
Since the original restaurant’s launch over a decade ago, Mandolin has also grown to be a lifestyle brand with Mrs. Mandolin serving as its coastal lifestyle boutique. Open alongside Mandolin Taverna, Mrs. Mandolin offers clothing, accessories, homegoods and more. Select items are imported from Greece and Turkey, but the boutique also welcomes brands based in L.A. and Miami.
Open from 11a.m. to 11 p.m., Mandolin Taverna is a great spot for both lunch and dinner. Reservations are now available on OpenTable, guaranteeing diners an atmosphere that will transport them to the Greek islands and food that will have you convinved you're on the Mediterranean Coast.
