THE PARTY Hollywood heavyweights gathered for an evening in the desert to honor Tinseltown’s top tier with prestigious awards for films released in the last year. THE PLAYERS Barbara Boxer, Alan Arkin, Ben Affleck, Martin Sheen, Tom Hanks, David O. Russell, Tom Hooper, Eddie Redmayne, Naomi Watts, Ang Lee, Robert Zemeckis THE HIGHLIGHTS Bradley Cooper celebrated his 38th birthday with the help of the evening’s hostess, Mary Hart, who led the crowd in a sing-along rendition of “Happy Birthday.” Helen Mirren took home the International Star Award and thanked the audience in 11 foreign languages after using her speech to promote foreign films and encourage everyone to see more movies with subtitles. Sally Field, who was spotted chatting backstage with her The Amazing Spider-Man co-star, Martin Sheen, garnered one of the few standing ovations of the night for her Career Achievement Award.
