Your favorite vegan Mexican restaurant has just leveled up its menu, but it’s only for the month of December, so you’ll want to head over ASAP.
Sugar Taco and Outstanding Foods have teamed up for the limited edition Outstanding Tostada: a crisp corn tortilla topped with guacamole, chicharrones in salsa verde made with Outstanding Foods PigOut Pigless Pork Rinds and plant-based crema.
You can trust it’s going to be delicious. For one, Sugar Taco has proven itself as a standout vegan eatery along Melrose Avenue. In addition, one of the co-founders of Outstanding Foods, Dave Anderson, was the genius behind Beyond Burger, so he definitely knows the key to fantastic vegan food. He and co-founder Bill Glaser are continuing to revolutionize the plant-based food space by making sure their products are always flavorful, high in protein and nutrients, sustainable and cruelty-free— the Outstanding Tostada (which costs $9.95) is just the next stellar example.
What’s also great about Sugar Taco (besides the food, of course), is that diners know they are joining in on the restaurant’s motto of “Saving the World One Taco at a Time.” It’s a fair mission anyone can get behind, and Sugar Taco truly means it. Whether picking out equipment or new menu items, the woman-owned business always considers the impact the decision will have on the environment, animal welfare and our health.
Through day-to-day operations, Sugar Taco’s top priority is to promote a plant-based lifestyle, which, for them, means feeding Los Angeles outstanding vegan/vegetarian Mexican food. It all circles back to the fact that living a plant-based life ensures that after one month, you will have saved 33,000 gallons of water, 900-square-feet of forest, 30 animal lives and 600 pounds of carbon dioxide.

Outstanding Foods really is Sugar Taco’s perfect teammate given their parallel missions. The popular plant-based food company knows people (especially now, especially Angelenos) want to eat mindfully, but without sacrificing taste. Their goal is to create food that is first and foremost delicious; all the benefits of being plant-based are just inherently there.
Sugar Taco is located at 7257 Melrose Ave. 90046.
