BRIGHT IDEA
Since she launched her fine jewelry line Eriness in 2015, L.A. native Erin Sasche has made the world a more cheerful place with her easygoing diamond and colorful stone pieces. Her latest debut, Th e Sunshine Collection, is building on that momentum right in time for summer. Consisting of necklaces, rings, earrings and bracelets made with yellow and orange sapphires, diamonds and 14K gold in designs inspired by the sun, the collection is meant to bring a smile to everyone who experiences it. It also continues to expand on Sasche’s overall inspiration for her line —nature. “It’s funny because I didn’t realize how much it inspired me until I looked back on my collections and reflected,” says the West Hollywood resident, whose nickname growing up was Sunshine. Standout pieces, like the ombré sunburst necklace and the diamond marquise sun ray necklace are meant to be layered together. “I love the idea of someone buying a piece of jewelry that they admire and collect over the years,” she says. “They start to build their own Eriness collection, which makes for special memories.” eriness.com–Laura Eckstein Jones

COFFEE TALK
For 26 years, Intelligentsia Coffee—which boasts locations in Venice, Hollywood, Silver Lake and Pasadena—has been on the forefront of coffee-making methodology. With the introduction of the Illumination Bar at its transformed Old Pasadena outpost, the brand is replacing traditional machinery with a transparent, laboratory-like process, lower countertops and freeze-dried espresso drinks made with its new Instant Espresso Black Cat Classic to encourage barista-customer interaction. “Our baristas know so much about coffee that we wanted to give them more time to talk to customers, instead of being so focused on drink preparation,” says Intelligentsia Coffee President and CEO James McLaughlin. “It’s akin to going into a great wine bar where the bartender has time to talk to you about all the incredible wines.” intelligentsia.com–Jasmin Rosemberg

GETTING CREATIVE
“NeueHouse has always been enamored by buildings that have a story,” says Josh Wyatt, CEO of the private work and social space concept that has houses in New York City, Hollywood, Downtown L.A. and now Venice Beach. “73 Market Street has deep artistic provenance within the Venice creative scene.” Once a haven for artists from Larry Gagosian to David Hockney, NeueHouse Venice Beach’s rustic coastal aesthetic embodies simplicity and local charm with natural wood, textiles and brick. The historic digs will house Reunion indoor-outdoor rooftop restaurant and bar; dedicated gallery and studio space for members and their guests; and expanded amenities and events to foster work, social and cultural interaction. Says Wyatt, “We are looking forward to hosting expansive art exhibitions and cultural moments, placing the Venice community at the heart of our programming, and also bringing new faces and talents to the Westside.” neuehouse.com–JR

“The chance to rescue one of America’s most famous hot dog stands is a dream come true,” says Bobby Green, co-owner and lead designer at the 1933 Group. Green had always relished passing the infamous hot dog-shaped Tail o’ the Pup on La Cienega and Beverly Boulevard—and he wasn’t alone. The iconic 75-year-old stand found fans in Hollywood stars from Sigourney Weaver to Betty White, and appeared in Jim Henson’s The Muppet Show and Anthony Bourdain’s A Cook’s Tour, before being moved into storage in 2005. After acquiring The Pup in 2018, the 1933 Group recently reinstated it at 8512 Santa Monica Blvd. The new 2,700-square-foot outpost boasts alfresco dining areas and a beer garden—plus the best iterations of the hot dog through the decades. tailothepup.com
The restored Irv’s Burgers space on Route 66 will revive the addictive roadside-style double cheeseburger. PHOTO: BY CUISCENE STUDIO
Over a year ago, Off The Menu founder Lawrence Longo visited the former Irv’s Burgers space at 7998 Santa Monica Blvd. “I instantly felt like Irv’s should never have closed down in the first place,” he says of the WeHo institution that shuttered in 2018. “I immediately called [prior owner] Sonia Hong and offered to help bring back Irv’s.” Established in 1946, the Route 66 stand was beloved by Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin, and appeared on Linda Ronstadt’s Living in the USA album cover. The authentic but updated new outpost, which debuted in June, revives the iconic roadside-style double cheeseburger—served on paper plates with Hong’s legendary doodles. Says Longo, “We hope we can give Angelenos a taste of nostalgia while also creating new memories.” irvsburgers.com'

THE RIGHT BITES
“It’s all about the food,” says Mariana Rossano, CEO and founder of Z.E.N. Foods. Standing for Zero Effort Nutrition, the veteran food delivery service stands out from the competition by offering healthy, customizable, stress-free meals that also taste incredible. “With meals that encompass cuisines around the world, it’s hard to get bored,” she says of the dishes that range from strawberry whole grain pancakes with ricotta cream and fresh fruit to Peruvian roasted chicken with aji verde sauce, sweet potatoes and grilled zucchini. “We have in-house nutritionists that work with our chef on a daily basis to create new things. It’s like having a chef and a nutritionist in one bag.” Based in Southern California, the brand has plans to expand throughout the state, and is in the process of finding an East Coast location to service the Tri-State area. As well, it’s recently started an intermittent fasting plan and launched a line of vegan and gluten-free doughnuts and infused lemonades with anti-inflammatory benefits. “Watching the experience of our clients get healthy is extremely gratifying,” says Rossano. “We hope to be creating delicious food and wonderful experiences for years to come.” zenfoods.com–LEJ

Skincare enthusiasts, rejoice! Esteemed French skincare brand Biologique Recherche is opening its first U.S. flagship, right here in the City of Angels. Landing this summer on Melrose Place—which is quickly becoming skincare row with Melanie Grant, Facile and Kate Somerville peppering the tree-lined street—in the former Rebag space, BR is landing in L.A. to expand its reach in the U.S. market. “The brand really was developed first on the East Coast, and specifically in New York,” says co-president Pierre-Louis Delapalme. “We thought it would make sense to have our first flagship on the West Coast, to make sure we, in a way, covered the country.” Similar to the brand’s famous Paris flagship, the L.A. boutique is a stand-alone space designed by Joanne de Lepinay. “All of our furniture is from Paris; all of our massage tables are from Italy; everything is custom made,” says spa director Vivian Henein. “So we definitely spared no expense in this spot.” Downstairs, there’s a private diagnostic room where clients receive a personalized product regimen, and a salon that offers scalp treatments and blowouts. Upstairs, there are five treatment “cabins” and a VIP room—with a private entrance—for celebrities and media. Instead of a standard treatment menu, services are booked in 60-, 90- or 120-minute increments and customized based on each client’s needs with different products and techniques. There’s also something very unique and exciting on offer: a haute couture-type service that creates ultrapersonalized formulas for clients monthly. “Every month we assess the customer’s skin... [and will] create a set of creams and serums... developed just for them,” explains Delapalme. “It’s very exclusive. All formulas are created in Paris—they have meetings to look at the data, and create formulas that are ultra-tailor-made for those customers.” Sign us up! biologique-recherche.com–LEJ
