To the great benefit of Angelenos, Sushi Note has expanded its presence in Los Angeles.
From the same hospitality vets behind the Michelin Guide-rated Sherman Oaks restaurant, Andy Paxson and Dave Gibbs, Sushi Note Omakase has opened its doors in Beverly Hills. Located in the Rodeo Collection, it joins other notable neighborhood eateries like The Hideaway and Sweet Angeles Bakers.
An intimate experience in a 14-seat space, all eyes are on the omakase and wine pairing experience developed by head sushi chef, Kiminobu Saito; his longtime sushi chef mentee and the restaurant’s culinary director, Earl Aguilar and sommelier and beverage director Ian Lokey. The rotating menu showcases premium, imported Japanese market fish and rare wines from across the globe.
Diners can opt for the full two-hour experience: a $190, 20-course journey of expertly crafted nigiri and sashimi, a handroll and dessert. Wine aficionados should consider the $100 wine pairing or $150 reserve wine pairing for a truly decadent experience. Highlights from Lokey’s selection include Domaine Marcel Deiss’ Alsace Grand Cru Blanc Schlossberg; Peter Veyder-Malberg’s Grüner Veltliner, Wösendorfer Hochrain from Austria and Domaine Roulot Meursault 1er Cru 'Clos Des Boucheres Monopole from France.
There is also a one-hour, 12-course menu for $125. Also, alongside a lineup of beers and soft drinks, the opening beverage menu offers sake and sake blends like Kamoshibito Kuheiji Junmai Daiginjo Hi no Kishi, Tanaka 1789 x Chartier Blend 001 and Nishide 100 Year.

While you’ll primarily be in awe of the food, Sushi Note Omakase is also impressive for its style and design. It brings a little bit of Tokyo right into Beverly Hills by paying homage to classic sushi restaurants in the Japanese capital. Under dim light and surrounded by cherry blossom accents, wood paneling and family photos, diners perch at the bar top made from Japanese Hinoki tree wood.
With plans to expand hours to Mondays and Tuesdays, Sushi Note Omakase is open Wednesday through Sunday with the 12-course omakase available from 4 to 5 p.m. and the 20-course omakase available from 6 to 8 p.m. and 8:30 to 10:30 p.m.
Reservations can be made on Tock and pre-payment of the full experience is required in advance.
