For the first time in nearly 20 years, internationally loved SushiSamba will unveil a new location in the United States.
The highly anticipated opening is set for summer 2025 in Los Angeles.
Touching down in the West Hollywood Design District, the forthcoming restaurant joins SushiSamba’s lineup of establishments in London, Edinburgh, Las Vegas, Dubai, Doha, Bahrain, Riyadh and Singapore. It first debuted the Japanese-Peruvian-Brazilian concept in New York City in 1999.
“We’ve long awaited the right opportunity to bring SushiSamba back to the U.S., and the vibrant energy of Los Angeles—combined with this extraordinary location—offers an ideal setting for our next evolution,” said Omar Gutierrez, co-CEO of SushiSamba Group. “L.A.’s dynamic culinary landscape, cultural diversity, and electric atmosphere align perfectly with SushiSamba’s spirit, making this a truly exciting moment for our brand.”
SushiSamba Los Angeles will open at La Peer Building. Conveniently tucked between Santa Monica Boulevard and Melrose Avenue, the 17,500-square-foot space is brought to life by the design prowess of Dizon Collective. Flourishes of greenery and warm lighting will complement the expansive sculptural trellises, which offer shade by day and light by night. An abundance of soft, flowing shapes nods to the wave patterns of Roberto Burle Marx’s Copacabana sidewalks in Rio de Janeiro.
Sure to stun, other planned features include a state-of-the-art retractable roof, a marble bar, Brazilian-inspired terrazzo flooring, a glass-wrapped sushi bar and robata grill and a private dining room accessible through a private elevator. The exclusive, intimate space will be made special by hand-blown glass sculptures, warm wood accents and oversized, basket-woven walls.
Master of fusion fare, SushiSamba will bring to Los Angeles its curated cuisine of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian influences. The menu will feature standard items like ceviches, sushi and robata creations, while adding a local touch with new dishes.
“SushiSamba has always pushed the boundaries of flavor and culinary art: bold, colorful, and memorable,” says corporate chef John Um. “We’ll be bringing that same pioneering spirit to the L.A. food scene with an incredible menu featuring brand favorites and all-new surprises.”
SushiSamba will be located at 639 N La Peer Dr 90069.
