Los Angeles mates should be on the lookout for the new British pub The Chap.
Coming from Ten Five Hospitality, The Chap opens its doors in the buzzy Hollywood Vinyl District on Nov. 19.
“As with everything we do, we tried to create something very specific and transportive that is absent from the market. The great pubs of London have an incredibly unique energy and feel. The second you walk in, there is a sense of belonging and community. We are recreating that atmosphere in our own way with the hope that the feeling a guest experiences when they walk in, is the exact same. The design, food, drinks, and service will be world-class but presented in a very approachable, everyday manner. We’re thrilled to bring The Chap to this burgeoning neighborhood of L.A.,” said Dan Daley, managing partner of Ten Five Hospitality.
The Chap earned its name after the London-born, comedic Hollywood star Charlie Chaplin and pays homage to the century-old public houses of London and countryside destinations of Surrey and Richmond in the United Kingdom.
Its design follows a deep bordeaux-colored nook, pullman booths and a wall of fame displaying famous British and Hollywood stars, such Elton John, Amy Winehouse, Princess Diana, David Beckham and its iconic namesake.
A variation of vintage and modern set designs take over the interior and exterior of the bar. The interior is completed by paisley tapestry upholstered chairs, leathered covered pillars and British racing green wood paneling. As for the outdoor patio, it serves as a perfect spot for Sunday gatherings with its communal tables made from reclaimed wood and shading suitable for all weather.
The menu also offers the best of pub cuisine and comfort foods like bangers and mash, fish and chips, the Tramp Burger and a Sunday roast, finished by a dessert of sticky toffee pudding.

In addition to all-time pub favorite drinks are specialty cocktails made by head bartender Daniel F. Torres. The lineup features The Churchill made from beefeater gin, Paint it Black made with Black Cow vodka and Pimm’s Cup made and the choice of a British spin on a Bloody Mary martini.
The Chap wouldn’t be complete without a little friendly competition, which is why regular programming will include viewings of Commonwealth matches (like World Cup festivities), weekly pub quizzes, Fiddler and The Chaps performances (the in-house fiddle band) and the occasional Britpop DJ set are also to come
From Wednesday to Saturday, The Chap opens at 6:00 p.m., while doors open at 11 a.m. on Sunday. Bar and garden reservations are first come, first served and limited tables in the Chaplin room are available. Sunday roast and other reservations can be made through Resy.
The Chap is located at 1607 N Cahuenga St 90028.
