The Den on Sunset is back.
The West Hollywood establishment recently underwent a massive renovation to expand its offerings to include dinner, a full bar and late-night options.
“The Den has evolved over the past decade to become a Sunset Strip destination, and this complete overhaul preserves the bar atmosphere we are beloved for, but elevates the experience with chef driven food, stunning interiors, and a fresh feel,” said owner Brett Latteri. “We wanted to maintain that electric energy our guests felt when we opened our doors originally, so we upgraded our DJ booth, and kept enough open space so people can dance. Our renovated bar will still anchor the front portion of the space, but elegant touches, artisan finishes, and a refreshed cocktail menu give it new life.”
The Den’s newest renovations take and add on abstract art inspirations that specially cater to The Den’s aesthetic. The newly designed space features a stunning interior fashioned by artistic painter and sculptor Nora Shields. Shields, as head of redesign, taps into elements that would provide a new look and feel of The Den, while keeping its same ideal aesthetic.
What's more, the renovation utilizes the outdoor space as its main focal point, in which tile installations are used to complement the outdoor hacienda feel and doubles as an art installation. In addition to the tile installation, many sculptural aspects surround the space. Creatively, the outdoor garden supplements a motif alluding to California’s animals to inspire guests to think about the location.
The patterns also extend inside the space, creating a seamless movement where the inside is decorated by vintage books, records lining the wall and many references to its Laurel Canyon-adjacent location.

The newest menu elements are elevated under the direction of renowned chef Ronnie De Leon, who curated the best of comfort foods, raw bar offerings, shared plates and large entrees. Under her impactful influence in food making, the restaurant has become a successful hotspot. Chef Leon knowingly provides elements everyone is bound to enjoy. The menu caters innovative items such as savory salmon crudo, kennebec potato chips, charred Spanish octopus, plus many other delicious offerings that surely enhance the lively mood and atmosphere.
The delicious menu isn’t the only thing that makes the place go round; its flavorful cocktail menu adds a special touch. Specialty drinks include Piña Gold OG made from El Silencio Mezcal, Guava Island made from Tres Generaciones tequila and other imaginative drinks, like It’s Corn!, Not You Average Jo, The Kid and Play and Going Clear.
