We get it. Not everyone agrees that champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries are the ultimate romantic treat. But with Valentine’s Day around the corner, you certainly don’t want to be hands empty when it comes time to stir up a little bit of romance after a candlelit dinner.
Instead of bubbles, opt for a Rob Roy cocktail and elevate the night cap with a slice of Black Forest Chocolate Cream Pie from Gemini Bakehouse. The combination is perfect for the special holiday. And to ensure you properly craft the cocktail, use the single malt whiskey The GlenDronach.
“The Rob Roy is one of those under-the-radar cocktails that has a way of always impressing,” explains drink specialist Prairie Rose, who wrote Mixology for Beginners. “Elegant, sexy, and luxurious, it's sort of the perfect Valentine's Day cocktail because it's simple to make yet delivers a complex and delicious drink. And a GlenDronach Rob Roy will have your date swooning.”
The GlenDronach’s richness will find an ideal pairing in the decadence of the Gemini BakeHouse pie. The Silver Lake-based bakeshop is great at all times of year, but even co-owner Hannah Smith knows the chocolate cream is the right way to go for Valentine’s Day. Specifically choosing it to pair with the Rob Roy, she called the pair “a great end to a dinner party with friends.”
