To the Max

| August 25, 2016 | Parties National

Max Mara threw a fashionable cocktail party in honor of actress Natalie Dormer at Chateau Marmont.

THE PARTY Hollywood heavyweights joined together with the city’s sartorial set to laud Natalie Dormer as the 2016 Women in Film Max Mara Face of the Future Award recipient. Held on the eve of the Women in Film Crystal + Lucy Awards, Max Mara’s annual cocktail party attracted impressive actresses like Blythe Danner and Ali Larter, who exuded the night’s theme—female empowerment.

THE SCENE Partygoers like Selma Blair and Emily Ratajkowski were greeted inside Chateau Marmont’s lobby with glasses of bubbly prior to being escorted to the gorgeous courtyard for the main event. After DJ Mary Charteris got the crowd going with popular beats like BeyoncĂ©’s “Hold Up,” guests mingled and noshed on savory appetizers, including mini croque-monsieurs and black truffle arancini.

THE HIGHLIGHTS While Molly Sims, Rose Mclver and Jessica Szohr showed off gorgeous frocks from the Italian brand, the center of attention proved to be the photo booth, which was flooded with guests seeking the perfect Instagram shot—a rarity due to Chateau’s strict no photography rule. –Meg Mcguire; photos by Donato Sardella/Getty Images
