THE PARTY
It was a star-studded affair at Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles’ 4th Annual Wishing Well Winter Gala, where actors, musicians and athletes convened for an evening of fundraising at the Hollywood Palladium. Mario Lopez helmed the fabulous fete, which raised more than $1 million for children affected by life-threatening medical conditions.
THE SCENE
X Ambassadors kicked off the night as guests enjoyed fresh Atlantic salmon, roasted Tuscan chicken and a platter of shareable sweets. Don Cheadle and Wish Kid Cameron Fisch took to the stage to present Robert Downey Jr. with the Shining Star Award, while music industry mogul Scooter Braun took home the Humanitarian Award, which protege Tori Kelly presented. The Los Angeles Kings, who won the Power of a Wish Award; Olympian Laurie Hernandez; and City Council Member José Huizar rounded out the social set.
THE HIGHLIGHTS
Guests were moved to tears as families shared the ways in which Make-A-Wish had touched their lives, from visits to The Avengers set with Downey to shooting pucks at Staples Center with the Kings. To top off the feel-good gathering, rock band Bush brought everyone to their feet with hits “Glycerine” and “Comeback” as frontman Gavin Rossdale posed for selfies with stageside fans. -Allison Mitchell
