In a memorable kickoff to Emmy Awards weekend, Catch opened with a buzzing bash by Audi.


THE PARTY
Anticipation was high for the West Coast opening of Catch in West Hollywood, with Audi, the official automotive partner of the 68th Emmy Awards, tapping the new resto to host its seventh annual pre-Emmy event—a must-attend kickoff to the festive weekend. “It’s a chance for us to celebrate the nominees and show our support for the incredible talent in front [of] and behind the screen,” says Miranda Harper, general manager of communications for Audi of America, Inc. “This year we celebrated with 14 Emmy nominees, including Rami Malek just nights before his big win [for outstanding lead actor in a drama series, Mr. Robot].”

THE SCENE
With a 2017 Audi R8 greeting guests en route to the 12,000-square-foot rooftop eatery, the fete proved to be as A-list as its WeHo location. “Before we knew it, we had several unexpected high-caliber guests sneaking in the back door. What’s not to love!” says Harper. Among the VIPs chauffeured to the event in Audi Q7s were Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland and Transparent’s Melora Hardin.

THE HIGHLIGHT
While facing the Pacific Design Center with epic views of the Hollywood Hills and beyond, notables noshed on hellfire rolls with spicy tuna and sipped on a variety of refreshing cocktails. Steeped in good vibes and good times, the event brought out luminaries from Cuba Gooding Jr. to Mary J. Blige and Constance Zimmer. Talk about high speed! Beth Weitzman
