L.A.-based Tracie Butler designed the chic reception area.

When an esthetician has a more than six-month waiting list for new clients and is 100% referral-based, you know she must be good. And Vanessa Hernandez (vhskincare.‌com) is great. With a clientele that has included Amber Valetta, Elyse Walker and Gwyneth Paltrow—among many others who can’t be named—Hernandez’s technical, results-driven approach and down-to-earth personality have set her apart in the highly competitive world of L.A. skincare. “Every program is tailored to the lifestyle of the client, and the method travels with them from our studio into their home—from customized in-studio treatments to a results-driven product regimen,” she explains. “Customization is key.”

Hernandez recently moved from a small office to a much larger studio in Brentwood and, with that, expanded her team and menu of services. “It’s allowed us to get our waitlist down from over six months,” she says. “We are offering many more amazing treatments, from a lymphatic sculpting facial massage to the Exilis skin tightening, toning and lifting laser.” Other new offerings include the V-Beam Prima device, which reduces redness; Skin Pen mircroneedling; brow microblading; and lash extensions and lifts.

But the core, must-do menu item is the 60-minute customized facial, which incorporates extractions and a bespoke combination of dermal infusion, microdermabrasion, oxygen therapy, LEDs, VH Skincare’s signature Rosehip Seed Oil Gold Collagen Mask and more. The $400 service includes a 30-minute follow-up appointment one to two weeks later.
Other unique offerings—perfect for starting the new year off right—are the full-body skin treatment and the skincare bootcamp. “We do microdermabrasion head to toe, exfoliating off dead skin cells, followed by a glycolic acid wash,” says Hernandez of the full-body treatment, noting that LED lights, a vitamin emulsion and any other additional client needs are included. The latter service alternates facials, microneedling and lymphatic sculpting massage over six to eight weeks. “This is a game changer,” Hernandez says. “It will totally change your skin.” Sign us up!
