On Oct. 27, Veuve Clicquot’s Solaire Culture exhibit will launch its first ever global traveling exhibition by Veuve Clicquot in Los Angeles.
Paying tribute to Madame Clicquot, Veuve Clicquot is celebrating its 250th anniversary this fall. Making its way to Beverly Hills for an exclusive, they are offering Angelenos the opportunity to delve into the world of the iconic champagne and Solaire Culture. The exhibition will feature complete immersion of Madame Cliquot’s background and heritage, archival objects of savoir-faire and cultural imprints from 1772 to present day.
The exhibition will include an interpretation portrait of Madame Clicquot done by the iconic and renowned artist Yayoi Kusama; archives of Clicquot’s life and contributions to the industry; a look into Veueve licquot’s vineyards; Crayeres chalks cellars and a film sharing winemaking secrets.
In addition to its many archives, other historical documents— including signed letters by Madame Clicquot and an original bottle of Veuve from the 1840s that survived a shipwreck in the Baltic Sea— will also be on display.
For guests to enjoy, there will be a restaurant with bespoke bites paired with Veuve Clicquot Cuvees and a boutique offering souvenirs from the exhibition to take home.
The exhibition will also feature works of art commissioned by other eminent women across the globe with their inspirations and interpretations of Madame Clicquot and Solaire culture, including Sheila Hicks, Monique Frydman, Moyoco Anno, Tacita Dean, Penelope Bagieu, Ines Longevial, Olimpia Zagnoli, Rosie McGuinness and Cece Philips.
Madame Clicquot Ponsardin's legacy began as a widow in 1805 at the age of 27. She would soon take over the champagne family making business becoming one of the first women in the champagne industry.
She broke barriers for women of the time and grew to revolutionize and contribute great success to vintage champagne, earning her the name “La Grande Dame de la Champagne”.
The exhibition will be held at 468 North Rodeo Drive in place of the current Louis Vuitton exhibition in Beverly Hill. Reservations for visitors over 21 and older can be made starting Sept. 22.
