The dance circuit stepped into the spotlight, where ballet devotees and silver screen stars toasted the second year of Benjamin Millepied’s L.A. Dance Project during the collective’s Garden Benefit Gala. Millepied and his Black Swan pas de deux partner turned real-life wife Natalie Portman hosted the intimate group at Sutton Stracke’s Bel-Air home, which was transformed into an outdoor theater fit for the entire rendition of Swan Lake. Instead, L.A. Dance Project dancers took to the outdoor stage to perform a sneak peek of new works from the upcoming season created by composer Bryce Dessner and choreographer Justin Peck. While guests dined on a purple basil salad and braised short ribs, we uncovered their fondest dance memories. Photography by Stefanie Keenan/Getty Images
