Vino en Vogue: 3 New Wine Shops in L.A.

BY Krista Simmons | November 12, 2018 | Feature Features

Craft beer and cocktails have had their time in the spotlight, and wine is more popular now than ever. Here, we highlight three of the best new wine shops in the City of Angels.
The newest local wine shops are having a back-to-earth moment. Cheers!

Highland Park Wine
In Highland Park, the development that houses white-hot Triple Beam Pizza and Hippo is home to a bottle shop owned by two of the folks behind Silver Lake Wine. Called Highland Park Wine (323.545.3535), the go-to is stocked with a highly curated collection of unique and esoteric sips that pair well with Triple Beam’s Roman-style slices and serve as the perfect accompaniment to a sit-down dinner at the latter restaurant, helmed by James Beard Award winner Matt Molina.

Psychic Wines
Also new to the neighborhood, Psychic Wines—the sister store to Diversey Wine in Chicago and Ordinaire in Oakland—from restaurant and wine vet Quinn Kimsey-White.

At Vinovore, a gem of a wine shop on an ultrahip stretch of Hoover in Silver Lake, you’ll find unique selections from founder Coly Den Haan, including on-trend orange wines; pét-nat Champagne; and what she says is the next big thing, chillable reds, all from female winemakers from around the globe. As well, Den Haan offers a well-edited selection of giftworthy books penned by female authors, and design-driven baubles for her custom gift boxes.
