THE PARTY The ladies behind Women’s Guild Cedars-Sinai came together to throw the 59th annual spring luncheon to benefit the Women’s Guild Simulation Center for Advanced Clinical Skills, which provides critical training through simulated medical procedures to doctors and nurses. Held at Beverly Wilshire, Beverly Hills (A Four Seasons Hotel), the elegant affair bestowed actress and business mogul Jaclyn Smith with the Woman of the 21st Century Award for her inspiring work with nonprofits such as the Farrah Fawcett Foundation and Susan G. Komen. THE SCENE Following a welcome reception, guests including Vanna White and emcee Billy Bush sat down to a delicious meal of avocado, jicama and tomato salad; grilled salmon; and petits-fours and chocolate-covered strawberries for dessert. THE HIGHLIGHTS Besides raising more than $250,000 through ticket sales and luxe raffle items from XIV Karats, Lanvin and more, Women’s Guild President Hella Hershson captured the audience’s attention with her uplifting remarks. “I’m grateful for the far-reaching vision and passion of the women in Women’s Guild and the wide circle of supporters who prove, year after year, that advocacy and philanthropy is a powerful combination,” she says. –Photos by Alex J.
