Or so that is the approach of Zerina Akers. The celebrity stylist and costume designer just opened Saint Helen’s House, a multifaceted social club that is also home to her luxury rental showroom called The Show Must Go On.
Akers has left a lasting impression on the red carpet over the course of her career with a clientele that includes Beyoncé, Megan Thee Stallion, Karol G, Latto and Chloe and Halle Bailey. In particular, she won an Emmy for costume design for her work on Bey’s stunning musical film, Black Is King. Alongside helming the head-turning fashion of the industry’s top events and magazine covers, Akers is the founder of the e-commerce site Black Owned Everything, which showcases Black-owned brands.
With the launch of Saint Helen’s House, Akers further cements herself as one of fashion’s greatest innovators.
As a social club, Saint Helen’s House serves as a space where guests can relax by the pool, take advantage of the serene workspaces or be enlightened by the educational and wellness programming. It will host monthly events aimed at fostering community, such as art shows, pop-ups, co-branded opportunities and fitness activations. The house is open to the public, but a membership grants access to exclusive offerings.
Meanwhile, on the top floor, The Show Must Go On showroom lets guests discover the perfect look for rent for a red carpet, gala or any other important life moment. The lineup of luxury designer brands curated by Akers herself spans gowns, eveningwear, suits, footwear and accessories for rent in inclusive sizing. By booking an appointment, you have access to the fashion genius of Akers and her expert team of stylists who guide you through finding unique pieces and fittings.
